Review: Worldprofit's home business bootcamp with George Kosch. Comprehensive practical training teaches you how to make money online, step by step.

The training program commenced with Bootcamp Instructor, George Kosch welcoming members to the LIVE interactive session.

The latest numbers are in!  George revealed a SHOCKING FACT...

98% of new members do not start the bootcamp training.

A discussion followed as to why this is, and how not doing the training sabotages your own success in this program - but also in your LIFETIME ability to earn online.

Worldprofit is primarily a training company providing online training to help people learn how to earn at home from reputable online sources using proven effective marketing strategies. Worldprofit is not a business opportunity. We teach you how to make money from multiple online sources using tested strategies that we ourselves use daily and have used for the last 20 years.

What we teach you is not theoretical, it's based on actual hands on skills and extensive experience that generates results.
The training includes LIVE weekly training, video tuturials, online self-paced lesson plans as well as support services 365 days a year. You will not find as intensive and thorough program as that offered here at Worldprofit. Sadly some people come into the program, dabble, never really dig into the training to grasp the basic concepts that will lead to their own success.

George Kosch described the "SHINY NEW product" syndrome.  Those who do the training, and devote the consistent effort and time required will see results and will go on to build a successful online business that generates income. Those who quit to move on to the next "Shiny new product" are destined for a life of BUYING not SELLING.   A lifetime of discouragement, money out of pocket buying the latest "sure-fire money maker"  with no money coming in.  The skills we teach you can be applied to ANY online business or affiliate program. Learn the basics, and you have the foundation for a lifetime of online income.

We want YOU to be successful and get on the right track - NOW.   If you are reading this and have not yet started the bootcamp training, just login to your Worldprofit member area, on TOP MENU click on Training. There you will see the lessons, progress at your own pace. You've got over 90 lessons on a variety of topics all designed to help you get maximum benefit from the software and tools included in your Membership and to understand how to market ANY product or service online to generate consistent income.

REMEMBER! Help is available to you 365 days a year, just submit a Support form.
We will get back to you promptly with any help or guidance required.

TIP: Make sure you are getting ALL emails from Worldprofit by using a GMAIL address. Ensure that email from Worldprofit is whitelisted or approved email and is not ending up by error in your junk folder.

So you want to be a CEO. Think again! Newly discovered manuscript by Scarlet O'Hara tells all... and you'll be shocked and aghast at what she reveals about life at the top of the business heap.

by Dr. Jeffrey Lant.

Author's program note. Is there a person alive (or at least a movie goer) who doesn't  know about Scarlet O'Hara, the spit-fire whom author Margaret Mitchell (1900-1949)  originally wanted to call "Pansy" and was only persuaded to change with the greatest  difficulty. Pansy, indeed! Why not "Shrinking Violet", or some other botanical faux-pas?

It may be true that "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet", but naming her  protagonist "Green O'Hara" (for all that "Pa" Gerald was as Irish as the day is long)  would have cost several million in profits, not to mention a few of the film's bumper crop  of 10 1940 Oscars. And so Katie Scarlet O'Hara she was christened and Katie Scarlet  O'Hara she has remained, perfectly named for the character Rhett Butler enjoyed  watching (and infuriating) so much, "What a woman!"; now in the headlines again,  improbably one might have supposed; in "Forbes", "The Wall Street Journal" and  "The Economist", to name but a few of the world's leading financial and business  publications, now tripping over themselves to see, and so report, the facts of  this intriguing matter.

They, however, can but hint at what may be forthcoming. But you, dear readers, will  be gratified before the panjandrums of the media... all because of one indefatigable  researcher, on the case early and late, his encyclopedic knowledge of every  occurrence at 12 Oaks and Tara, even unto the contents of Miss Pittypat's sewing  box and why she just couldn't help herself when rapscallion Rhett turned up with  blockade-run presents far too useful and scarce to decline, whatever the social  consequences. How could a lady valiantly get through the long evenings without  her indispensable pins and needles? That Butler was a clever man all right.

That researcher, Harvard-trained mind, is me... and as I find false modesty to  be in appalling bad taste, I ask you to acknowledge my achievement and  perfect your well-turned compliments which I have so well and thoroughly earned.  For this I thank you.

 The process of discovery.

As any honest researcher will admit, and rightly so, it is painstaking work and  careful process that produces the serendipitous outcomes we call "discoveries";  these discoveries are not random, not accidental, not unexpected, but come to  be because dedicated and resourceful researchers set out and consistently  remain dedicated, resourceful... and organized to a fare-thee-well. Thus only hoi  polloi are surprised when these seminal finds occur; the researchers fully expect  them and are gratified rather than astonished when they occur. And so it was  with my own researches into this important matter.

Rumors, conjectures, hypotheses advanced, considered, discarded, reconsidered.

For many years rumors had been rife in Hollywood about a particular piece of  furniture found in Tara's home office, the place where, amongst so many scenes,  Miss Ellen tells her husband about the illegitimate child fathered upon white-trash  Emmy Slattery by Tara's randy, Yankee foreman, Jonas Wilkerson. The piece in  question was the desk, the desk which in one way or another was accessed and  used by Scarlet, Melanie and Ashley Wilkes, Gerald, Miss Ellen, etc. It was also  the desk from which Gerald, unhinged by his wife's death, eerily extracts a pair of  diamond ear bobs, almost his last remaining asset.

 Speculation about the desk's contents.

Guessing just what the desk's contents may have been grew into a parlor game  at every star-studded soiree. One said it was the long and exhaustive list of  Leslie Howard's amours with complete phone numbers, addresses and the  dizzying list of their particular expertises and their ability to satisfy his exacting  requirements.

Others suggested Clark Gable's false teeth, the contours of which helped  give him his instantly recognizable grin, so suggestive and impertinent. ( After  all, a set had been lost during the great burning of Atlanta scene.) Or the packet  of salacious photographs taken by a crew member of the complete cast. He was  fired. His photos abided.

And, of course, the idea was mooted that the ear bobs belonged to the adamant  wife of David O. Selznick who hid them there, because he had mortgaged their  every asset, often multiple times to produce his masterpiece. But because the  desk itself had been misplaced, maybe even sold (those pesky debts again), no  one could say with authority... until now.

 Needle in the hay stack.

Enter your worker of wonders, your prestidigitator of renown, your man of  protean energies, imaginations, inspirations and luck... and, yes, that would be  me! And I did what every good researcher must do... I went to the movies,  this time to watch, and in the middle of a beautiful afternoon at that, GWTW  ("Gone with the Wind") all over again... and all over again to be swept away by  a film that remains the chief of its ouevre, quite simply the single best film ever  made. And because I am and have been throughout my life the most loyal  and tenacious of fans, the film granted my wish. Not for the object itself... that  would be too easy; rather for the significant lead that would deliver the object  in question and burnish my already bright reputation as the discoverer of  dazzling discoveries.

Thus after I swept away the mandatory tears that flow at  GWTW's  conclusion, the moment when Scarlet comes to know, for the first time, that  love is not about what you take... but what you give without stinting, without  thought of gain or recompense... at this poignant moment of reverie and  recognition... I took my hunch and went to the UCLA film school and, with  trepidation and fast beating heart, asked to see their extensive records on  the film, its production, script, actors, costumes, and so much more.

There, in a file simply marked "Tara, properties therein, Gerald O'Hara desk  and contents" was the grail (if not holy, at least venerable) ...  a yellowed page  in what turned out to be Scarlet's anything but copperplate hand... to be  followed by over 200 such pages, dated and numbered, with her razor  sharp observations on the business of business, a subject she was more  than qualified to discuss... Here are just a few of her trenchant recommendations:

 1) Surround yourself with the team of people every business owner needs to  succeed... and reward them handsomely. It pains me today when I  think of how  much I relied on Mammy and how little I did for her. It was Rhett after  all who  gave her the bright red petticoats she loved.

 2) Don't fall in love with your partners or, far worse, your employees unless  you have an author of genius at hand to tell the story and reap the profits. A  love affair with Ashley Wilkes in real life would have been the very devil,  disruption to business being just the beginning of the problem.

 3) Know who your friends are and be good to them. Every business owner  needs a friend or two to let off steam with, share tragedies and triumphs. I  had the best of these in Melanie Wilkes but let my own selfishness get in  the way. I rue her passing every day and squirm when I think of how I treated  her. But she was a true lady... and never complained.

 4) Honor the employees who give their time, loyalty and heart's blood to help  you move up and up. I am proud that young as I was, I didn't have to think twice  about giving Pa's gold watch to Pork. He was the best, even to the extent that  he filched from others to help feed me and my family. No O'Hara ever forgets  that.

 5) Treat your employees with kindness and humanity. I am chagrined when I  think that I gave Johnny Gallagher, the supervisor of my lumber mill, "a free hand",  knowing what he would do with it; working the convicts I employed to their very  deaths. Ashley warned me... but I wouldn't listen.

 6) Take time for charity and good works. No person can lead a balanced, worthy  life without empathy; not just in words either. You might think that because my saintly  mother died by performing a charitable act, I'd be firmly opposed to any charitable  act. However it is because of what she did, when she did it, that made her a saint.

 7) Work your investments... first by having and keeping a good trustee. Even when  I was a young woman I was rich, though after Sherman swept through Atlanta  on his punitive, punishing march to the sea, it didn't seem so. However, my first  husband Charles Hamilton and my second, Frank Kennedy, were both wealthy,  until the war. Luckily I had the best trustee, Charlie's uncle. He moved heaven and  earth to preserve what I inherited. I hardly gave this a thought then; I'd advise you to  be more intelligent and informed.

 8) Listen to the "old goats". They're often lonely and firmly believe they are helping  when they deliver their jeremiads and admonitions. Dr. Mead, Atlanta's physician  of choice, was windy and dull but good hearted. I could have been kind. Melanie  was. But then Melanie Wilkes was.... (Editor's note. Here the manuscript seems  smudged as if a tear had fallen on it.)

 9) Don't worry about the hurtful criticisms and verbal brickbats thrown at you  by people who are so often jealous and envious of your success, whatever they  may say to the contrary. They aim to hurt, but can only hurt if you let them. Never,  ever respond in kind; as the Good Book says, gentle words turn away wrath.

If I'd known this way back when, I would have treated India Wilkes with more  kindness. After all, she lost the love of her life in Charles Hamilton. She was  entitled to more than my irritation and impatience with her very presence.

 10)  Fight for love and loved ones. God knows, the world knows how I treated  the great love of my life, Rhett Butler; how I ignored him while pursuing the false  chimera of Ashley Wilkes. I learned the hard way that you must fight and fight  hard to keep the good people, the loving essential people in your life, for they  are the best people of all. Rhett, when you read this, come home to me. After  all tomorrow is another day and given good will and love, above all love, we  can find happiness and serenity with each other... well, at least happiness....

 A dedication

The author dedicates this article, the first based on Scarlet O'Hara's honest,  timely and practical business management and life enhancement advice, to  three wonderful people, each of whom has contributed to the enthralling  ambiance and worldwide success of GWTW and Scarlet herself.

These include score composer Max Steiner (1888-1971), the lyric genius  behind "Tara's Theme" and a host of Hollywood's grandest films. Ironically  this stupendous achievement failed to win him the Oscar; that went to  "The Wizard of Oz." Go now and listen again to Steiner's music, sublime,  soaring, note perfect.

While you're at the search engine, listen to Itzhak Perlman's entrancing rendition,  pure magic. The Maestro (born 1945)  is ill now and needs our prayers. May they  be as heartfelt and beautiful as the genius he brings to music.

As for my final dedication, it is to my beloved grammie, Victora Burgess Lauing  When I was 10 or 11 or so, she invited me, and just me, into the cool recesses  of the movie house in Downers Grove, Illinois. It was a place of dreams, excitement,  of high comedy and searing drama. During GWTW, she held my hand and  squeezed it when the drama was fiercest and most pronounced. I didn't understand  just why over 50 years ago, but I understand now.

Get Paid To Podcast, Teach, or Publish a Newsletter Online

Making money online is a matter of finding an audience who you can either advertise to or receive direct payment from. Either way, you need something interesting or informative with which to catch and hold your readers' attention. Your content is everything.

I'll show you how you can make money presenting and distributing content via podcast or a newsletter, and how you can connect directly with your audience as an online tutor.

Getting Paid To Podcast

To create a podcast, you will need a microphone and some recording software. If you have a camera, you can also produce video podcasts.

You can download a free recording program from audacity.sourceforge.net, where you will also find tutorials on the technical side of podcasting.

When you have the content and are able to produce good quality podcasts, you need listeners. You can find them by submitting your podcast to directories such as podcastalley.com, promoting it through a website or blog, or advertising in forums and newsletters.

The bigger your market, the better. Don't be afraid of competitive markets, they're big for a reason--they pay and people are listening!

You will then be able to make money by finding a sponsor who is willing to pay to reach your listeners. You could find your own advertisers, or join a podcasting network such as podtrac.com.

If your content is desirable enough, you can charge for access to it, through services such as iTunes (apple.com/itunes). If you are selling your podcast, however, it is a good idea to create a free content version too in order to reach new listeners.

How To Get Paid To Publish Online Newsletters

Even if you prefer the written word to audio podcasting, you will still need to take care of some technical details.

The best way to distribute newsletters is through an autoresponder list service. These can be set up to automatically deliver pre-written emails to subscribers at set intervals. Each new subscriber will receive all of the emails in your predetermined sequence. That means you can load up a year's worth of content (or more), and it'll automatically publish straight to your subscribers' email boxes without you touching it again!

A free autoresponder can be downloaded from responders.com, while a more professional program can be bought from aweber.com. These programs will also help with managing your subscriber list, so you stay spam compliant.

A successful newsletter will be attractive, easy to read, and compatible with different computers and internet browsers. You can create beautiful PDF documents using a free program such as openoffice.com.

Also, you do not have to create all your own content. You can get free stock photos and articles from sites such as publicdomainimages.net and ezinearticles.com. You can also pay for pre-written content from sites like associatedcontent.com.

Email newsletters are perfect for marketing your own products, if you are running an online business. You can also make money by selling space to advertisers or even charging for subscriptions.

By using the tools from services such as aweber.com, you can grow your online newsletter list to hundreds or even thousands of people.

Get Paid To Teach People All Over the World

If you have knowledge and experience to share then you can do so in a podcast or newsletter, or by writing content for a site such as demandstudios.com, who will pay for articles.

Alternatively, you can become an online tutor and communicate directly with students through video chat and email. You could find your own students by advertising your services on craigslist.org, or join a company who will pair you up with suitable learners.

In order to get the best jobs, you may need some relevant qualifications, such as a degree, proven experience in a particular field, or a teaching certificate of some kind.

Websites that recruit online teachers include universalclass.com, mytutor24.com, and tutor.com. Wiziq.com has a teacher directory where you can describe yourself and potential students can find you.

Having A Successful Home Based Business Made Easy

There are numerous reasons why you might be interested in starting your own home-based business, along with a great deal of doubt, concern and questions. The following article offers some tips and advice to help quell the concerns, and offer resolution to common issues many people face in the operation or start-up of a home business.

Before starting a home business, be sure to research your market fully. If your product is something that your target market doesn't want or need, you won't get many sales. Rather than spending all your energy trying to force the market to buy your product, spend that energy designing and promoting a product the market wants.

If you are going to splurge on any home office furniture, splurge on a very comfortable office chair. You are going to spend many, many hours in this chair and if it is uncomfortable, you will not be as productive as you could be and you could technically, do damage to your body.

Since your home is also your work place, make a point to get out of the house on a regular basis. Don't isolate yourself for the sake of convenience. Go have lunch in the park, grab your coffee at a bookstore, etc. Just make sure you are out breathing fresh air at least once a day.

If you have a business, then you need a budget. How can you run a cost efficient business without a budget? It is impossible, and therefore imperative that you incorporate a well devised budget into the planning process. This budget should include what your expenses are of course and it should itemize them. Make sure you are thorough and include everything so that you are not misleading yourself.

Use your web site to advertise a free product for visitors. This will increase traffic on your site and give potential customers the ability to sample your product. Although it may cost a little money in the beginning, you should make up for it in sales from impressed new customers.

Do not be afraid to post your email address on your web site. Make sure that you include it on every separate page that you have. You do not want potential customers to search to figure out how to get in touch with you. The more effort that it takes them, the more likely they are to go on to something else without purchasing from you.

Make sure you have a support network before starting your home business. This includes family members who need to be aware of the time commitment involved, as well as an external networks you can reach out to for advice or support. Working from home has numerous benefits, but remaining a part of a group outside your home is invaluable.

Making the decision to start a home business or to invest more time in the one you've already gotten off the ground can be a cause of concern. There's so many questions about what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and why to do it, from marketing to overhead to product choice. Whether you just graduated with your MBA or are a stay-at-home mom or dad, you can simplify the answers to these questions by using the sensible advice in these tips.

In a Biz op or doing Affiliate Marketing? 5 SHOCKING REASONS why you aren't getting any leads.

By Sandi Hunter

1.  You are promoting a website and not a Landing Page, also known as a Squeeze page.

To generate leads you need an eye-popping landing page. It's exactly what it sounds like. You promote your landing page, people LAND on it, see your offer and provide you with their contact info so they can get more details on what you offer. Your standard website simply can't accomplish this effectively, usually websites are too busy, to generic, too "professional." In contrast a landing page SCREAMS benefit! It tells readers what they will get (SOMETHING AWESOME) but they must act now!     Landing pages are FILLED with benefits, short punchy copy that gets attention. Landing pages include a limited time offer, they include a form that needs to be completed in order to get the offer. Guess what you are doing with that lead form? YES! You are generating a LEAD, and getting the follow up info you need to provide the requested material/product, then follow up, and build your house list for sending future offers to that person.  Did you catch that last part about list building? I slipped that in an the end, but it is IMPORTANT.  A Landing Page must ALWAYS   ALWAYS give readers the option to SUBSCRIBE to your newsletter/or future offers.  You've worked hard to generate that lead so do your best to offer them the chance to receive future offers or mailings from you.

2.  Your promotional copy is boring.

In case you haven't noticed you've got oodles of competition out there. The web is filled with gizmos and gadgets. Your copy needs to get noticed or it will die a quick death in the email trash folder. Whether your offer is an email offer, or a landing page, or an online post, you have got to lead with a powerful headline, and follow that up with copy that keeps people reading.  Most affiliate companies provide you with excellent copy or banners for promotion. Don't try to rewrite something better if that is not your strong suit, use what they provide, copy, paste send.  Simplify.

3. You haven't made an offer.

If you want to get leads you MUST, MUST, MUST make an  offer.  Whatever  your pitch is REWARD the person reading it for taking action - NOW - TODAY - in the next 24 hours! Instill excitement and a sense of urgency. You've got a great product or offer  right? You don't want people clicking off any moving on to something else. You want and MUST get people to read and RESPOND to your offer. Give them reasons to do so.    Don't know what to offer?  Check for online products and affiliates that include Private Label and  resell rights, if they do you can use those as leverage in your offers.  By adding these you can convert a luke-warm offer into one that is HOT, HOT, HOT.

4. You aren't marketing in the right places to the right people.

A lot of  people new to online marketing make the mistake of spending money on advertising or leads that never produce results.  Taking shortcuts and buying mass leads or mass lists simply doesn't work. I am going to say that again. If you think you will generate QUALITY leads by buying mass lists, visitors, subscribers or hits, stop right now. Sorry to tell you the harsh truth, but building an online business means finding the best places to advertise that target YOUR market.  Hint: Google is NOT the place to start if you have a small budget.  In the business opportunity market you will want to look at Safelist marketing, Traffic Exchanges, Solo Ads, Ad Swaps, and email marketing providers like Aweber and GetResponse.  Your budget for online promotion doesn't have to be huge but you will get the best results with paid ads at reputable sources.  Do your homework.

5. You are so busy copy, pasting and promoting you have forgotten one of the most important rules in business.

Have you heard of 'Pinterest' ?

Well it's a new website that's already got over 65 Million users... It's getting 6 times the traffic than Google & Youtube Combined...

Users on this site are 10 times more likely to buy from you than Facebook or Google... And I've found a way to siphon all the traffic from 'Pinterest' and get the users to any website I want... Which is currently making me on average $233 per day.

So (while I'm on vacation in Thailand right now), my friend Jani has put together this free tutorial video for you as my valued subscriber, to show you how I'm doing it and how you can to.

God, chicken, Bean Town and mud pies. What's not to like? Are you good enoughfor Chick-fil-A?

by  Dr. Jeffrey Lant

Author's program note. I've got to tell you, stories like this make me glad to be alive and, as a commentator, have the solemn responsibility to report the facts and nothing but the facts to you... while trying hard not to bust a gut as both sides realize that America is enjoying the cat fight we're reporting... in fact, we just can't get enough of it.

But, first, I want to introduce you to the music that accompanies this tale of fowl behavior and roosters crowing on their own dung hills. It's Rodney Carrington's tune "The Chicken Song".... and it perfectly fits the bill: red neck, down home, big hat, bigger ego, not much up there, howdy ma'am, finger lickin' good, you dawg you, God bless America. It starts like this, and Rodney insists you learn these lyrics... or kiss his.... he's that kind of guy:

"I like my women like I like my chicken/ With a little bit of fat on the ends/ Not too much and not too little/ Just enough to make me grin."

You'll find the rest (and there is more of the same) in any search engine. Go now; it's got just the right sound for the rollicking article that follows.

"My way or the highway. Don't you even try to spend your tainted money here."

You'd be hard-pressed to find a businessman in our punk economy who made a point of letting you know in no uncertain terms that you'd better believe as he believes about God, Cosmos, and the American Way... or take your business elsewhere. Yeah, it's hard to find 'em, because that point of view is the very antithesis of capitalism, plutocracy, making a buck and laughing all the way to the bank.

Sure we each have our very own opinions on such Big Questions of Life, but we're shrewd enough, careful enough, discrete enough to keep them to ourselves. Remember Karl Marx's celebrated assertion, "The last capitalist we hang shall be the one who sold us the rope"? That about sums up what all of us in business do to get us through the day... and keep something beside for the next rainy day. We go along to get along, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

It just doesn't happen to be the way S. Truett Cathy, Chairman and CEO of Chick-fil- A and his son Dan, president, do business. With them, it's all glory, glory, hallelujah, those saints are marching in. They sell their chicken, done just the way Rodney Carrington likes his women, "with a little bit of fat on the ends", only to the "right sort" of people... and woe if you want a chicken sandwich and have money in hand but your foot doesn't fit their shoe. The welcome mat will surely be removed as you're shown the door.

Unlike virtually every other business in the customer-starved Great Republic, you are not necessarily welcome at Chick-fil-A. It all depends on what S. Truett and Danny believe today and would feel a whole lot better about you believing, too.

Founded in Georgia in 1946. $4.0 billion revenues in 2011. Over 1000 restaurants in  2012.

If you're a student of American literature and mores, you no doubt recall F. Scott Fitzgerald's celebrated line from "The Rich Boy" (published 1926): "Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me." And the Cathys are way beyond comfortable. As such they dish out their bigotry without remorse or understanding. Indeed, there may even be a nubbin of profound business insight in their disdain: if they stress their Godly views with vehemence and dogmatic insolence, they may actually sell more chicken and reap more profits.

After all, if you believe yourself saved and a certain candidate for heaven, you feel a whole lot better paying for chicken delivered by fellow believers, sanctioned by Jehovah. Chicken McNuggets eat your heart out. Mere taste has been trumped by sanctity, righteousness and rock-ribbed certainty about absolutely everything, including how you should live your life and express your love.

S. Truett's adamant point of view is summarized in the final step in his Five-Step Recipe for Business Success, "I was not so committed to financial success that I was willing to abandon my principles and priorities. One of the most visible examples of this is our decision to close on Sunday. Our decision to close on Sunday was our way of honoring God and of directing our attention to things that mattered more than our business."

Now, the usual way for such zealots to pursue their celestial work would be to set up a charitable foundation and go to town, leaving the business to focus on chicken, all the fixings and cold hard cash. But the very rich are different. Thus, while they did establish a (501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization, they also used company money to co-sponsor a marriage conference and this, in due course, lead them to the unholy bugaboo of homosexuality... a subject guaranteed to send most every Southern Baptist like old man Cathy and son into a bona-fide, ripe-roaring rodomontade about the Sins of the Flesh and a plethora of Unspeakable Outrages. Foaming at the mouth was recommended, but not required.

And so Dan Cathy sat down with the Baptist Press one July day in 2012 and made it clear why the Founding Fathers added the First Amendment to the Constitution. This day he confirmed that his company was "guilty as charged" for being a supporter of organizations rallying against same-sex marriage. It was the usual jeremiad that proved nothing so much as that President Cathy had a mania for peeping in other people's bedrooms and being horrified (as well as titillated) by what he went in search of and forced himself to see.

Chicken in Bean Town?

At just this moment, it happened that Chick-fil-A was going through the necessary motions to do business in Boston. Now as all the world knows, not a creature stirs in The Hub of the Universe not even a mouse without His Honor Mayor (since 1993) Thomas M. Menino knowing the reason why and stamping it with his approval, or not.

Menino is also an adamant "my way or the highway" guy and he made it clear he'd do anything to block Chick-fil-A, unto the full panoply of his considerable powers, to keep those Southern fried gay bashers out of the Shining City on a Hill, a place of liberal ideas where gay people are very much at home and accepted, marriage and all. Thus the fat was truly in the fire for all that Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas (who never met a kooky anachronistic view or uncivil behavior he didn't like), promptly opted for God and chicken.

And so the tempest in a teacup continues... with each party fulminating, posturing, speaking darkly of rights and lawyers, sound and fury signifying nothing so much as each and every participant in this fiasco looks like a card-carrying knucklehead, the Cathys for assuming they know God personally and know His will and intentions, which no man, whatever his outlook or denomination, has ever known or can know... the Honorable Tommy needing a cold shower bath while a responsible adult explains to him the realities of business and just what he can and cannot do. Thus in due course, after filling out innumerable municipal forms and paying considerable municipal fees, Chick-fil-A will come to Boston.  But I shall never go. I have tasted their recipe and prefer McNuggets, and that's a wrap.

On Figs.

by  Dr. Jeffrey Lant

Author's Program Note. Tommy at the Montrose Spa up the street was in a pother when I walked in the other day. "Where have you been?", he blurted out. Clearly, I had done something or, more accurately, failed to do something, but what? Tommy's index finger pointed at my dereliction. It was a box of Mission Figs. "I got three boxes of them a couple days ago," he said. "And I thought sure you would have come in and snatched them up."

He positively pouted, his point irrefutable... I was, after all, his absolute best fig customer. I got the last box (for the day) and made my point, too. "You could have called me..." Oh, yes, he should have... but in the event, the figs in question went precisely where they were destined to go, "Down the hatch."

Fig Newtons

My first encounter with the fig I devour with avidity and the greatest possible satisfaction was not felicitous. Quite the reverse. For you see, I have always hated Fig Newtons and nothing you say to me will change my adamant mind. So don't even try. Still, as this is an article about figs mention must be made of Nabisco, which buys as many figs as anyone, only to waste them by baking a trademarked version of the ancient fig roll pastry filled with fig paste.

It might as well be wallpaper paste as otherwise; they taste about the same. Still, since invented by Philadelphia baker and self-proclaimed fig lover Charles Roser in 1891, its characteristic chewiness has been a staple of school lunch boxes as has its unusual shape. And yes, in the interests of civic boosterism I feel bound to tell you that the Cambridgeport, Massachusetts-based Kennedy Biscuit Company purchased the Roser recipe. As I am writing to you near Cambridgeport, I feel compelled to tell you. What's more because I can never give too many encomia to my city, state, and neighborhood you are now being told these unappetizing "Newtons" were named after Newton, Mass, just down the road a piece. Thus, I have done my duty. But never, ever ask me to eat a Fig Newton or change my lifelong opinion that the cookie is an abomination and a colossal waste of otherwise delectable figs.

"I don't care a fig about that."

Have your heard this age-old expression? It means that your level of interest is so low in the the matter under discussion it hardly signifies at all. But I am sure that doesn't apply to the fig itself. I am certain you do care a fig about the fig and desire to know absolutely everything about it, and so I am about to dramatically increase your knowledge of Ficus, a genus of about 850 species of woody trees. The common fig (and the adjective nettles this most popular of Ficus tree) is called Ficus carica. Make a note of it. These things count in life.

Ficus carica is native to the Middle East. People developing an instant affinity for figs took them on their travels. Soon they were everywhere from Portugal to Afghanistan. People of acutely different cultural and political views found themselves united in their love of figs. Amity must start somewhere. From the 15th century onwards it was grown in areas including Northern Europe and the New World. This had two important results.

First, Europeans, especially the English, turned mere figs into culinary perfection. Each Christmas their figgy puddings became sinfully delicious architectural monuments, the grander you ordered, the higher your social standing (and likelihood for gout and other conditions of the well-to-do.) Figs were Introduced into England by Cardinal Reginald Pole. Burnt at the stake in 1558, he may have been the first notable to grill figs, a delicacy. Yes, figs were moving in the highest society including a featured position in a particularly rambunctious Christmas carol, "We wish you a Merry Christmas". The important and lyric line as far as figs are concerned is this: "Now bring us some figgy pudding/And bring it right here", and people did as they were bade. Delicious.

The second result occurred when figs landed in California. It was a match made in heaven, facilitated by Fra Junipero Serra (d. 1784), the man who more than anyone was responsible for the quaint little missions. Thus we may call him the officiating agent in the marriage between the sweet taste of luscious figs and the unmatched agricultural land and climate of the Golden State. The padres savored the figs and no doubt ate more than was good for them; (figs are like that.) And so Mission Figs were born... thereby provoking the great debate between the figs that grew in Cyprus ("the original") and those caressed by the goddess Cali. Which was truly superior? Now lest you say you don't care a fig about this, I tell you this: figs no less than the rest of us bicker about their position in life... and there isn't a fig grown who will tell you ca sera sera. The competition is real and each side aims to win.

Me, judge.

I am one of the few people you will ever meet who has indulged himself, copiously, ravenously, not wisely but too well, with both claimants. Because I lived in California from1962; (in Nuestra Senora la Reina de Los Angeles, one of Serra's most dubious achievements) I disdained the local figs (for all their glorious aspects). People are like that, overlooking perfection merely because it is readily available. And thus I began my love affaire with figs in Cyprus, the place my long-ago Crusader ancestors found refuge at the de Lusignan Court after being summarily ejected from the Holy Land they conquered and misunderstood.

It did not take much of a leap to imagine that my devout but unlucky kinsmen made themselves as comfortable as possible in the harbor at Limassol and buying a heaping basket of figs for a pittance proceeded to spend a glorious afternoon devouring its contents, spitting stems into the cerulean beauty of the Mediterranean. It was not a bad way to spend centuries of exile. Perhaps the figs, exclusively local produce, helped make it all bearable, la dolce far niente being some small consolation for the now lost Via Dolorosa tread by Our Saviour and promising believers eternal life and redemption. Figs offer their own sweet balm... and we must take it as we can.

Celebrity fig eaters.

The argument for preferment of Cyprus figs over their succulent California rivals goes like this. Not only are we the original deal, but we have been chosen and then eaten by an almost unbelievable cadre of VERY Important People. Here learned figs wax encyclopedic as they recall their celebrated eaters through the ages and the daunting array of figgy references, viz. The Holy Bible, in the Garden of Eden (where figs are rightly put out by the fact that their goodness is overshadowed for eternity by the egregious apple). This opinion is shared by every fig, outraged by injustice. Modest by nature, figs consider it only fitting and proper that their foliage, in the form of a leaf, should be used to perplex and shield youngsters of tender age, whose first baffling question to parents is: what did you do with your leaf, Mama?  It is an almost unanswerable query.

The figs of Cyprus are renowned throughout the mythological, classical and historic records. How they were used in the Jewish Passover celebration...  how the legendary founders of the Eternal City and its empire, Romulus and Remus, were suckled by a she-wolf under a fig tree. (She-wolf milk being difficult to gather, the wolves seeing no reason to share, this notable figgy cocktail did not catch on.) How Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, sat under a fig tree (apparently a popular past time for historic figures) and changed the world. It is not recorded whether he ate of this fruit. We can only hope he did, for millions depend on his own well-being and a mental clarity enhanced by figs .

Cleopatra, some figs, and an asp.

Learned figs, the most numerous kind, all know that Egypt's iconic Queen Cleopatra deprived young Octavian Caesar of her body and renown by the simple expedient of placing an asp in a basket of ripened figs, pinching the serpent which retaliated by biting her majesty and ruining the figs. (Shakespeare is graphic on this revolting fact.) Perhaps for this reason concoctions involving asps and figs have been rare.

"The fig is a secretive fruit."

Figs are not a prudish fruit. They pride themselves on their liberality of outlook, truly fruit of the world. But even advanced figs still dance gingerly around the matter of D.H. Lawrence's 1920 success de scandale, "Figs".

"The fig is a secretive fruit. As you see it standing growing, you feel at once it is symbolic; And it seems male. But when you come to know it better, you agree with the Romans, it is feminine."

You need a fig leaf for the remainder and a place no one can find you whilst reading.

Beside this wealth of imagery, literary references and the known dietary preferences of gods and princes, Cali offers only one argument for its Mission Figs: unrivalled taste. And this, as Tommy knew, will always be paramount... which was the reason he should have called me forthwith, figs not yet on the counter. I would have bargained for the lot and thanked Lawrence for telling me how to eat them.

"Just to put your mouth to the crack, and take out the flesh in one bite.

Envoi.

Before going to Tommy's today to see if there are Mission Figs available, if so pouncing to get all that he has, I recommend as the music for this article "Liaisons" from Stephen Sondheim's splendid 1973 show "A Little Night Music." Find it in any search engine. Hermione Ginggold is perfectly ancient, world-weary and sardonic as Madame Armfeldt. Her disgust at the descending standards of contemporary life is palpable. "What once was a sumptuous feast is figs. No -- not even figs -- raisins!" And that simply won't do.

Getting The Most Out Of Something FREE

Hi Here’s how you can get the most out of a program called Free Monthly Websites. Free Monthly Websites, in my opinion is one of those programs you either know what to do with or you don’t. I will now show you how you can get the most of it and why Free Monthly Websites is such great tool which can earn you an extra income stream to your business for a long time to come.

The Three main categories we need to concentrate on here are: 1, Selling eBooks 2, Writing articles 3, Affiliate promotions When you first login and download your website follow the tutorials which is very easy to do and eventually get your website onto your webspace. You are presented with a very nice well designed Adsense website. What can you do with this free website? Well to be honest the free website has duplicate content so you can rule out getting to the top of the search engine rankings, the premier websites are a different kettle of fish all together but I will get to those in a moment.
Take option 1 above ‘Selling eBooks’ if you sell eBooks especially PLR (private Label Content) conversions, you will find Free Monthly Websites have a rather large verity of websites that correspond with a lot of the PLR out there (if you are a premier member you get a bonus PLR eBook). All you need to do is upload your eBook to a convenient location on your webspace and place a few corresponding links inside your PLR eBook for example: I have a weight loss eBook and a small paragraph saying “there are 100’s ways to lose weight which can be found in various forms from Books to television to fitness programs bla bla bla” you could not take this small paragraph and insert your Free Monthly Websites website link in a prime location for instance “there are 100’s ways to lose weight which can be found in various forms from Books to television to fitness programs the best resource I found is at www.yourfreemonthlywebsites.com/fitness_website” Now imagine you done this to all your eBooks! Simply take a little time upload your Free Monthly Websites website to your webspace then reopen your PLR eBooks and insert the relevant hyperlink which corresponds to your website and there you have it. For about 2 hours work you have created an income stream for life. Now imagine you have 50 PLR eBooks doing the rounds on eBay or your blog. Your AdSense revenue is going to creep up and up until you are earning a very respectable income. It’s a simple case of wash rinse repeat. Option number 2 is even easier. I know most of you will at some point, or do write articles and submit them to relevant article directories. Well why not try writing an article about one of the subjects related to Free Monthly Websites? Upload your website to a location on your webspace, place the link in your article and there you have it, submit to article directories like:
 http://www.articledashboard.com/ http://www.articlebasement.com/ http://ezinearticles.com/ http://www.goarticles.com/
And another income stream will start. The third option is a little different. Using your Free Monthly Websites affiliate link to promote the website and earn a potential 98.50 per referral. You can place your link in the websites provided for you and in the eBooks you sell and articles you write this can generate a missive earnings income of 98.50. So with your website up on your webspace and your eBook on eBay and your articles in the article directories, you will be well on your way to earning a nice income from a free resource. I mentioned earlier your Premier Members website. These are a fantastic resource and are worth every penny for the simple fact you receive a private label eBook and 20 articles with every Premier Membership website every month. Not only can you use the eBooks and articles in the ways I have explained, you can key word optimize your website for the search engines, change the content and make your sites as original as you like. In other words you have full edit rights. So if you imagine directing a visitor to your Premier Website via an eBook or article, they will find a fully edited site with offers and affiliate links promotions, and even an Aweber signup box (which you can integrate with a little HTML knowledge) which in turn will create more revenue and more subscribers for you. My recommendations are if you have a few hours to spare get started with this and you will soon see a Google AdSense income. If you use the Premier Websites, you can place affiliate banners, Clickbank affiliate links and Aweber signup box on your site as well as edit all your own content via an easy edit control panel.. If you are going to move into this business, I recommend you take the Full Premier Websites Access! Here's a link for you: Free Monthly Website Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed my review. Facebook - A New Marketing Avenue

Facebook and Social Media - The Next Marketing Opportunity

Marketing as an activity is all about reaching the right customers with the right products, and the result sought is delighted customers who are more than willing to open their purses wide enough to boost your revenues. For many years, marketers stalked their target customers through various means and by trying to get their message across to spread awareness about their wares.

Traditional Means of Communication

Traditionally, marketing communications were conducted via print, broadcast and such traditional media through disruptive advertising, where advertisements appear in between the content of interest for the customer.

Traditional media does give a large reach to a marketer with its programming of mass appeal. However, the wastage is equally high, since a large portion of the audience would belong to a different segment than the one that is to be targeted by the marketer.

Enter Social Media and the Internet

The revolution stirred by the internet as a medium took place because of the fact that it is highly personalized and provides more content on-demand than any other available medium. Social sites proliferated far and wide in their usage for a few simple reasons:

The power to create and distribute content is equally available to every user, irrespective of him/her being a customer or a marketer. In the earlier forms of media, that power rested with the editorial staff of the channel or the advertiser, but hardly ever with the user.
The medium is completely personalized, and a user can create or join groups and further create content based on what he/she likes.
Opinions are free and fair. This is one reason why social media is of utmost concern to marketers, since buying decisions are no more influenced as much by advertisements. The traditional word-of-mouth marketing approach has grown leaps and bounds on social networks.

Facebook – At the Center of Social Media

With 500 million (and growing) unique users worldwide, Facebook is the number one social networking site in terms of activity and subscriptions. What started as a garage initiative by Mark Zuckerberg has now become the biggest phenomenon on the internet.

A user interface that allows for quick communication and the ability to create fan pages and groups at the click of a mouse button are what make Facebook extremely popular. Another important reason for its immense popularity is the wide variety of social applications that have been developed and made available within the Facebook environment.

These applications can allow users and friends to do joint activities like playing games that run endlessly, sharing photos, videos, and web links, and many more.

How does this help a marketer?

Traditionally, media plans were drawn to include television channels, publications, or any other media that can grab maximum eyeballs and effectively reach a selected target audience. The science of segmentation and targeting has become only more accurate in the case of social media.

Facebook provides a wide variety of avenues to communicate with the audience, which opens up an entirely different world of possibilities to have a fruitful dialogue with customers. Some of these methods used popularly by marketers are:

Advertising: The first opportunity, which is the most obvious one, is advertising on Facebook. The difference, however, is the fact that you can create your own advertisement in a matter of minutes and also specify the details of your target group in terms of demographics and types of discussions where you want your advertisement to appear.
Fan Pages: Facebook allows every brand, as well as individual users, to create fan pages for their favorite celebrities and their own homegrown businesses. Large brands have also created their official pages on Facebook that have a huge, immediate fan following around the world. The fan page has immense utility to convey first hand information about the brand and also to collect immediate and frank feedback from your customers.
Branded applications: One of the most effective ways to engage a user toward your brand is by creating an application; this could be a game or a contest, with your branding coming across subtly through it.

What makes Facebook even more exciting is the way it allows you to target your communication sharply just to the customer segment you want to attract. It also provides analytics and page insights that give good feedback and measurement on the activity done.

The options provided by Facebook can be creatively explored and used judiciously for bringing about maximum benefits to any brand.

However, while doing all this, you need to be aware of the fact that customers have an equal say and have the ability to respond immediately to any of your actions with a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Availing the service of a social media consultant to work out a social media strategy may be required so that your efforts will not be in vain.

Benefits Of Article Advertising Or Article Marketing

Article advertising or article marketing can be the key to not only making money but having a successful business. If you have a product or service that you are trying to promote then one of the best and most cost effective ways is by using article advertising.

Article advertising is a type of marketing effort in which you write short articles, about 400-600 words, related to the product or service you wish to promote. If they are well written they will, after getting distributed to various online article directories that will be easily found on search engines and read by people interested in what you have to offer.

In article advertising, well written article will be constructed in such a way that it has strategic placements of keywords and keyword phrases used by those who are searching for what you have to offer. This will make your article easily found by search engines and can help get you noticed earlier by future consumers.

Some of the benefits of article advertising are:
1)    It is a great way to gain respect in the niche you are trying to reach. If they see your well written and informative article they will see you as an authority. The more that you have written about a certain area, the more trusted you will be and the more likely they will be to buy what you offer.
2)    It is very cost effective. If you write the article yourself it will only cost you the amount of time and energy you put into researching and writing the subject. If you can't write well, you can easily find those who are able to write for you who are affordable and will let you put your name on it, aka, ghostwriters. These are many times very affordable, though you need to make sure that they are able to give you unique content and are native speakers in the language you are trying to market in.
3)    Links are also a great benefit to article advertising. Your well written article will have a link back to your website and will also have a resource box with a strong call to action. This will invite those reading the article to go to your site to find out more about what you have to offer. This will also help your search engine ranking.
4)    It helps you reach a much larger target audience than you otherwise would have. Those who are really interested in what you are offering will be the ones who read your article. You won't be putting your marketing efforts in front of people who may or may not care about what you have to offer. It will be read by people who are truly interested in what you are doing and are also very likely to buy what you are selling.

Article marketing or article advertising is a great way to get attention to your products or services, if it is used correctly. Take some time to learn how to do it the right way or find a good ghost writer to do the work for you and you will find customers who are not only willing to buy from you, but trust that you are going to meet their needs and may come back to you for other purchases. Done correctly, article advertising can help you climb to the top and make you a success.

A Day In The Life Of An Affiliate Marketer

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this?

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate?s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and mails to track down. See if they are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there are questions to answer from the visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be paid more attention on. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answer that should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advices is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer?s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything worked.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that have been written already.

The marketer still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of wannabees.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time?.

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Is that success looming in the distance or what?
